Welfare Advice

Jack Gillis is your Welfare and Education Officer, elected by Goldsmiths students to represent you on academic and pastoral issues.

We hope that your time at Goldsmiths will be mostly positive. However university has inevitable ups and downs, and if things do get a bit rough, there are staff and student officers specifically here to support you. Whether its problems with your course, a dodgy landlord or housemates, money issues or you just feel a bit low, the union is here to advise and refer you to the right support services. All the elected officers are here to support and represent you on an individual level.

The Welfare and Education Officer is also responsible for co-ordinating campaigns encompassing any issue relevant to the welfare of students.  To this end, the Students' Union will be running a series of campaigns to make a positive difference to the student experience here at Goldsmiths. Look out for our healthy living, sexual health and student wellbeing campaigns- and many more. The students union also works very closely with the Metropolitan Police's Safer Neighbourhoods Unit to raise safety issues in and around New Cross.

See the links on the left for specific issue based information.
