Capoeira Angola is a vibrant tradition that incorporates movement and music in the Afro-Brazilian context of resistance. Born from the movement of Africans to Brazil in the transatlantic slave trade, the constant evolution of capoeira is always under scrutiny from practitioners, academics and politicians alike.
Whether you are looking to keep fit, explore coordination, learn about Brazilian culture, push yourself to your physical limit, explore hidden talents, learn a new language, gain a strong singing voice or discover how you relate to people in a new environment, we provide a safe place to investigate the wonder that is Capoeira Angola.
Taught by an experienced and qualified instructor, our classes provide excellent tuition at an extremely low cost. Treinel Miguel Andrade Santos is a student of Anthropology here at Goldsmiths and is in his 3rd and final year. He began this club in his 1st year and was rewarded with runner-up society of the year 2005-6 and runner-up society member 2005-6.
