Societies
The Union hosts a large number of Societies, including cultural, political, hobby and subject groups such as the LGBT Society, Islamic Society and the Anthropology Society. See below for a list of Societies and contact details.

If you don't see anything that interests you why not start your own Society? With a good idea, some like-minded students and a little effort - this is very easy! Click HERE to find out more.
Hobbies - Whether you are interested in fishing, photography, cocktails, comic books, films or anything else why not get your mates together and share your interests, experiences, equipment or whatever else. With 7500 students at Goldsmiths, do you think you're the only one interested in your hobby? Why not find out?
Culture - Whatever your background, culture or religion there are others at Goldsmiths who want to share your interests and experiences, whether the Islamic, Afro Caribbean, Irish, Jewish, German or anything else you can meet up with others with similar interests and backgrounds by joining one of our societies.
Political/Campaigning - Students Unions have always been a hotbed of political activity and Goldsmiths is no exception, with a huge range of political and campaigning organisations ranging from Conservative Future to Liberal Democrats or the LGBT Society and the Womens Society. You can meet other people with similar or even dissimilar interests and engage in some active campaigning, debating, arguing or, as ever, just making new friends.
Departmental/Subject - There are 11 departments at Goldsmiths University, so it only makes sense that each one should have its own union society where you can meet others, discuss your subjects and have social event with all your friends on your course.
For further information on any student activities, contact : Laurel Sills (Student Activities & Services Officer) or Jo Wright (Student Development Co-ordinator) on

Following extensive consultation with students and society Presidents the Union has developed a strategy for the future development of societies. To read it's conclusions click HERE
